How are Competitor Citations gathered?

You may want to ensure that you are listed on 'Competitor Citations' as these are your search competitor's citation lists.

Here's how we gather Competitor Citations:

1. We first need to gather your 'Live Citations'. Click here for more information on Live Citations and how they are gathered.

2. The top five ranked businesses within Google Local Finder for your ‘business type’ and ‘location’ are then identified (i.e. your top five local competitors). We use their business name and zip code (postcode) to find their citations.

3. Next, the citation sites that we find are collated, and any duplicate sites are removed — this gives us a clean list of sites that your competitors are listed on.

4. Lastly, we remove your Live Citations from this list to provide a clean list of Competitor Citations for you to consider adding your business to.
