The Connections page, located under the Location Dashboard ‘Settings’ section, is a single, centralized place where you can view and disconnect all of the external profiles you’ve linked to the BrightLocal platform, and connect new ones.
To get the most out of the BrightLocal platform, it’s a good idea to connect analytics and social media platforms to get insights and extra functionality in your reports. Here’s a reminder of what each type of connection will provide within BrightLocal:
Google Business Profile- Fetches Google reviews daily and allows review responses directly from Reputation Manager. Adds Google Business Insights data to Google Business Profile Audit.
Facebook - Fetches reviews daily and allows review responses directly from Reputation Manager. Adds Facebook performance data to the Social section
Twitter - Adds Twitter performance data to the Social section
Google Analytics - Adds website performance data to your Google Analytics report
Previously, each of these connections could only be made from individual tools pages. So to connect up a GBP profile to both Reputation Manager and Google My Business Audit, you’d have to repeat the process twice from each tool.
With this update, we’re bringing the management of connections into one single page in Location Settings, so you’ll only have to handle it once - and the data will be pushed out to wherever it’s needed in the tools.
Using our example from above, a GBP profile which is connected to the Location will be automatically applied to the Insights tab of a Google Business Profile Audit as well as used to pull daily reviews into Reputation Manager.
What action do I need to take?
Existing connections will now be accessible from the ‘Connections’ page nested under the ‘Settings’ menu item. To add, remove or change the external profiles which are connected to BrightLocal, navigate to the ‘Connections’ page under 'Settings' in a Location Dashboard to make changes.
